Cincinnatiās City Council approved a zone change for 3060 Durrell Ave -a rare 4.5 acre site in the heart of Evanston.Ā Transit-oriented and close to the Anchor District,Ā University of CincinnatiĀ andĀ Xavier University, The Mingo will be a 240-unit mixed-income housing development honoring Pastor Peterson and Regina Mingo who inspire us all.Ā Pastor Mingo's dedication to Evanston's youth, tireless work as an anti-violence activist, and his unwavering faith makes Pastor Mingo the kind of person we all strive to be.Ā I'm grateful to know him and collaborate on The Mingo project ā a project fueled by his vision for a stronger Evanston and a better Cincinnati.
The Mingo addresses the crucial need for housing in Evanston as highlighted in the recentĀ Cincinnati USA Regional ChamberĀ March 25th report:
Ā·Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Shrinking Housing Supply: Evanston lost 334 housing units (8.3%) from 2010 to 2020.
Ā·Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Rising Occupancy Rates: Evanston occupancy rates jumped 5.8%, indicating a constrained housing supply.Ā
Ā·Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Soaring Housing Costs: The typical home value in Evanston increased by a staggering 651.5% ā the highest increase of any Cincinnati neighborhood.

The Mingo will help bridge this gap by providing diverse housing options to variousĀ income levels, ensuring Evanston remains a vibrant and inclusive community with more opportunities for people to call the historic neighborhoodĀ home.Ā
