"The Mingo” 🏠 🏠
Cincinnati’s City Council approved a zone change for 3060 Durrell Ave -a rare 4.5 acre site in the heart of Evanston. Transit-oriented and close to the Anchor District, University of Cincinnati and Xavier University, The Mingo will be a 240-unit mixed-income housing development honoring Pastor Peterson and Regina Mingo who inspire us all. Pastor Mingo's dedication to Evanston's youth, tireless work as an anti-violence activist, and his unwavering faith makes Pastor Mingo the kind of person we all strive to be. I'm grateful to know him and collaborate on The Mingo project – a project fueled by his vision for a stronger Evanston and a better Cincinnati.
The Mingo addresses the crucial need for housing in Evanston as highlighted in the recent Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber March 25th report:
· Shrinking Housing Supply: Evanston lost 334 housing units (8.3%) from 2010 to 2020.
· Rising Occupancy Rates: Evanston occupancy rates jumped 5.8%, indicating a constrained housing supply.
· Soaring Housing Costs: The typical home value in Evanston increased by a staggering 651.5% – the highest increase of any Cincinnati neighborhood.

The Mingo will help bridge this gap by providing diverse housing options to various income levels, ensuring Evanston remains a vibrant and inclusive community with more opportunities for people to call the historic neighborhood home.
Thank you to Pastor Mingo, the entire Christ Temple Baptist Congregation and countless others: Development Manager Daniel B. and Business Ops Rebecca Walker our development and tax attorney Sonya Jindal Tork of Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP, george berardi, Joe Berardi, Berardi + Partners, LLC. , City of Cincinnati Planning Department and
